The School Committee voted unanimously on June 5 to induct Janet Gaffney and Burt Noyes into the North Andover educators’ Hall of Fame.
A committee member moved to accept both nominations and a second was recorded. Committee members praised both nominees for long service to the district and their impact on students and colleagues. One member said Gaffney had dedicated 34–35 years to the district as a kindergarten teacher and emphasized that she continued professional learning late in her career; another member recalled Noyes as a dependable presence at the high school who served as an English teacher and assistant principal.
The committee approved the nominations in voice votes; members responding in roll call included Mister Hicks, Mister Moskovich, Mister Brown, Miss Cormier and the chair (all voted yes). The committee will invite both honorees to the district’s induction/celebration event in October 2025 and to deliver remarks at an upcoming opening‑day ceremony.
Ending
Staff will contact the honorees with formal invitations and arrange details for the October induction ceremony and the opening‑day remarks.
