City moves ahead with Edgewood School roof repairs; temporary student space under lease discussed

The board of education is considering a lease arrangement estimated at about $12,000 per month for 10 months (approximately $120,000 total) to host students temporarily; the arrangement is described in meeting remarks as a short-term measure while work proceeds at Edgewood.
Officials said that, in parallel, the city will proceed with a project to move Bristol Burlington Health District (BBHD) into the old Beck Center beginning July 1; the board of education expects to vacate by June 30.
Council members also noted early construction at the Northeast [Bridal] School building committee caused some neighbors to experience stormwater and dust issues after heavy rains; construction teams have been addressing concerns and monitoring abatement measures.
No formal vote was taken at the council meeting on the Edgewood roof work or the temporary lease; the building committee and the Board of Education are continuing planning and procurement steps.
