JLAC approves small set of revisions to 2025 committees of reference

The Joint Legislative Audit Committee on a voice vote approved revisions to the 2025 Committee of Reference (COR) assignments for sunset review hearings, adopting the Senate president’s recommended updates.
Auditor General Lindsay Perry told the committee the packet contained “the new proposed changes to the 2025 core schedule” and noted the updates include reassigning some reviews and updating committee names to current standing committee titles. Perry cited, for example, a transfer of the Coconino County Transportation Excise Tax assignment and a rename of the Senate committee that will review the Arizona Department of Gaming.
Vice Chair moved the motion that “the JLAC approve the revisions to the 2025 Committee of Reference Assignments for Sunset Review Hearings.” There was no recorded roll-call opposition and the motion carried on a voice vote.
The committee’s action implements the Senate president’s recommended COR assignments, which set which standing committees will hold public hearings and make recommendations to the full Legislature for entities subject to sunset review.
The committee packet notes the 2025 COR schedules had last been approved and amended December 10, 2024; the approved change list was provided to members as Attachment A in the meeting materials.
No further substantive debate was recorded on the motion and committee staff will publish the updated COR schedule to support the upcoming sunset calendar.
