The Prattville City Council on Tuesday ratified and authorized a new three-year lease with the Autauga County Family Support Center for city-owned property at 113 West Main Street.
The ordinance authorizes the mayor to execute a lease beginning Jan. 1, 2025, and expiring Dec. 31, 2027, with rent set at $1 per year. Councilor Chambers introduced the ordinance and cited the Code of Alabama section that authorizes municipalities to lease unneeded real property.
The resolution notes the city previously leased the property to the Autauga County Family Support Center beginning Jan. 1, 2022, and that the prior lease expired Dec. 31, 2024. Councilors suspended the rules by roll call to consider the ordinance at the meeting and then adopted the ordinance.
No public objections or amendments were offered during the council discussion. Staff were authorized to finalize and execute the lease documents and to attest them with the city clerk's seal.
