Powhatan Board appoints Will Hagee as county administrator, employment agreement authorized

The Powhatan County Board of Supervisors on May 19, 2025 appointed Will Hagee to serve as county administrator and clerk to the board, effective June 1, 2025, and authorized the board chair to execute the employment agreement.
The appointment followed a closed session in which the board discussed candidates for county-administrator hire and legal matters. The resolution (R‑2025‑31) states the board engaged in a recruitment process, selected Hagee and agreed on employment terms; the chair was authorized to sign the employment agreement on the board’s behalf.
Will Hagee addressed the board briefly after the vote and said he appreciated the opportunity and intends to work hard to honor the board’s trust. The board approved the appointment by roll-call vote; Supervisors McClung, Powers, Morissette and Chair Donati voted aye and the motion carried.
