The Page County Board of Supervisors approved a special entertainment permit for the Luray International Triathlon, scheduled for Aug. 16, 2025, at Lake Arrowhead.
Applicant Jack Campbell told the board organizers anticipate roughly 800 participants and that the event will produce traffic delays but not road closures. County staff summarized the permit request under Chapter 55 of the Page County code and recommended approval, noting no outstanding issues.
Staff said the event is in its twentieth year and consists of a 750‑meter swim in Lake Arrowhead, a 27‑mile bike route on paved county roads and a 5K run on Lake Arrowhead Road. The presentation estimated the event typically attracts additional family members and spectators, adding “more than 2,000 visitors to the area over the course of 2 days.”
A supervisor moved to approve the permit; the board voted in favor.
