The Kennesaw Historic Preservation Commission on May 16 recorded two administrative certificate-of-appropriateness approvals and heard a staff announcement that the city will receive an award for the Depot Station renovation.
Daryl [last name not provided], historic preservation staff, said the commission had two COAs processed administratively in the prior 30 days. The first, listed as COA 2025-10, covered a reroof at 2250 J O Stevenson Avenue; the applicant was Joe Bozeman. The second, COA 2025-11, covered fencing alterations at 3000 North Main Street submitted by William Benson and was processed as an administrative review because the work was judged appropriate in character.
Daryl also told the commission that the organization or effort identified as "Safe Kennesaw" will receive an award from Cobb (Cobb County landmarks group) for the Depot Station renovation; the award presentation is scheduled at the Root House in downtown Marietta. Daryl said the mayor will attend and that a formal press release will follow once the award is presented. Attendance by Historic Preservation Commission members was optional.
Commissioners had no discussion and no public comment was recorded on these items. The administrative COA approvals were reported as having no issues at the time of the meeting.
