The Warner Robins City Council adopted an ordinance updating the city's classification plan to create and reassign several tax- and licensing-related positions to the finance department.
Councilman Holmes moved to adopt the ordinance and to waive the second reading; Councilman Lashley seconded and the motion carried. The ordinance as read by Holmes created a tax manager position (job classification 169, grade 21), reactivated a tax supervisor (job 155, grade 19), and moved existing positions — Business License Specialist (job 144, grade 16), Tax Specialist (job 156, grade 16), Tax Assistant (job 140, grade 10) and Cashier Tax (job 128, grade 9) — from the general administration department to the finance department. Each position as presented had an authorized strength of one.
Holmes noted the full ordinance is available in the meeting packet online. The council adopted the ordinance as part of regular business; the staffing changes move several tax- and licensing-related posts under the finance department’s supervision.
