District leaders told the Board they are advancing staffing for the coming school year, including probationary conversions, certificated and classified appointments, summer work assignments and administrative promotions.
Maria Massaro (HR lead) said the classified report is light for this time of year but will expand as summer hiring continues; certificated staffing and class openings are being finalized based on enrollment. Superintendent Mark Lohrey said the district expects to be roughly 95–99% staffed by July 1 and that some involuntary and voluntary transfers remain subject to contract provisions and certification requirements.
Board members were informed that 13 administrative candidates were interviewed with additional interviews scheduled; the superintendent said he will consult with the committee and present recommendations for administrative appointments and promotions ahead of July 1. "I would like to first, I need to hear from the committee, then I need to make some decisions and recommendations to you," Lohrey said.
Why this matters: timely staffing and credentialed placements affect the district’s ability to open classes and deliver summer programs; administrators asked the Board to be prepared for additional meetings to finalize appointments before July 1.
Next steps: HR and principals will continue placement work, finalize summer assignments, and return to the Board with personnel resolutions and any required votes at upcoming meetings.
