Orange Village Council voted June 4 to adjourn into executive session to consider the purchase or disposition of real estate.
A council member moved to adjourn to executive session for that purpose and the motion was seconded. The council then voted by roll call; each member present voted yes. Prior to leaving for executive session, a council member noted that the body “will not be voting on anything after we reconvene.”
Why it matters: Executive sessions for real-estate discussions are commonly used to allow confidential negotiation strategy and legal consultation concerning property acquisitions or dispositions.
Next steps: Council reconvened later (time not recorded in the public portion) and did not indicate any public votes on the subject at the June 4 open meeting.
