The district’s special education committee reported two operational changes intended to gather feedback and improve accessibility for students with disabilities.
When students with an Individualized Education Program leave the district, families will be offered an exit survey; the district said it will review survey results quarterly and use the responses to identify service improvements. The committee also developed an accessibility checklist to guide building permits and event planning so district events are more accessible to students and families.
Presenters said the committee will monitor results and make changes as needed; committee members named in the presentation included Britney Hales and Jason Striker (both cited as contributors).
