Council renews routine alcohol, cigarette and vaping retail licenses for 2025–26 licensing year

Clerk Hubbard summarized available license categories and state quota constraints, noting liquor and fermented malt beverage license fees are set at maximums allowed by state statute and that the city’s reserve license is restricted and carries a one‑time $10,000 fee. Hubbard said the licensing committee met May 27 and recommended approval of the applications on the council agenda. Council members moved and seconded approval; the motions passed by voice vote.
Hubbard noted applications submitted late but complete (for example, Hemp 1848 filed on May 30) will be processed and that placing several of these items on the June 17 agenda would not delay businesses because current licenses remain effective through June 30.
