Joel Arrington, airport manager, explained the original budget for the project was $150,000 and the purchase will come in under budget. "The original budget for this project was a hundred and fifty thousand. ... we actually came in at a hundred and twenty eight thousand. So a little bit of savings in there," Arrington said. The furniture will be purchased through a cooperative contract with OMNIA and Pure Workspace Solutions.
Committee members noted the cost savings and congratulated staff on moving the hangar project forward; the committee voted to recommend the ordinance to city council.
The item will be forwarded to the City Council for approval and for the city manager to execute necessary documents.
