The Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission voted Monday to change its regular meeting day and start time to Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., citing commissioner availability and upcoming program workloads. The calendar change was approved by voice vote during the meeting.
The commission considered two calendar options presented by staff: move meetings to Wednesdays now at 6:30 p.m., or keep the current Monday schedule for the remainder of the fiscal year and switch to Wednesdays in the next fiscal year. After discussion about member schedules and program-planning workloads, a commissioner moved to approve the schedule change to Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.; the motion received a second and passed with all members present voting in favor.
Staff said the new schedule is intended to improve attendance and align commission meeting timing with staff and presenter availability as the department’s event season increases. Staff also said the calendar will be emailed to commissioners with exact dates for the coming months.
