The Knox County Board of Education approved several major procurements on June 5, including a $3,400,000 purchase of the Kiddom sixth-through-eighth-grade science curriculum, a $3,256,000 design contract with Lewis Group Architects for a new K–8 school in the Mechanicsville/Lonsdale/Beaumont area, and supplemental staffing contracts for 2025–2026.
The board approved terms and a privacy policy with Kiddom Incorporated for the science curriculum purchase. Miss Christie moved the Kiddom item and Mister Triplett seconded; the motion carried with no discussion recorded.
Trustees approved a contract with Lewis Group Architects for design services for the new Knox School for the Mechanicsville, Lonsdale and Beaumont area. Board members praised the RFQ process and the creative approach requested in the solicitation; Miss Templeton commended the RFQ and Doctor Adams and Mister Schober were thanked for their work on the project.
The board also authorized contracts with Ameritas Healthcare Staffing Inc., ESS South Central LLC and Stellar Therapy Services to provide supplemental staffing for the 2025–2026 school year (term 07/01/2025–06/30/2026).
Each procurement motion was recorded as carried; the approvals allow contract execution and budget processing by the district.
