Committee advances revised water and sewer rates ordinance to final council reading

The Finance Committee recommended that the City Council approve on third and final reading an ordinance establishing revised water and sewer rates, tap and system development fees, administrative fees, service charges and penalties as recommended by the Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities.

“Before you is our annual rate ordinance. There have been no changes since the last committee meeting or council,” Brad Bowen, administrative manager for the Board of Public Utilities, told the committee.

There was no public comment. Committee members moved and seconded the recommendation; the item passed committee and will go to the full council for final action.

The committee record shows limited discussion at the committee level; staff emphasized that the ordinance reflects the Board of Public Utilities’ annual recommendations and that no revisions were made since prior review.

The ordinance will return to the council for adoption on Monday.
