The University of Alabama System finance committee approved the system’s annual campus information technology plans and authorized a professional services agreement with ScottMadden Management Consultants to support an organizational redesign of the shared administrative services unit ahead of an enterprise resource planning implementation.
Doctor Dana Keith, senior vice chancellor for finance and administration, told the committee the IT plans were prepared in compliance with Board Rule 406 and report projects that exceed $750,000 in total cost or $250,000 in IT professional services. “Twenty-one percent of the projects in the IT plan are new projects, and the remainder are previously approved ongoing projects,” Keith said.
Keith recommended approval of both the IT plans and the ScottMadden agreement. On the consultant contract, Keith said ScottMadden will “provide structured expertise to strengthen both operational efficiencies and workforce capabilities and align business processes with the upcoming ERP implementation.” The committee moved, seconded and approved both resolutions by voice vote.
