Signal proposal at Lindsay Road and County Highway 164 stalled after cost‑share window closed, committee told

A Public Works staff member updated the committee that efforts to add traffic signals at the Lindsay Road intersection as part of the County Highway 164 project have stalled because a required agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation was not signed in time.
The staff member said the village of Pewaukee had been asked to cost‑share and had instead requested Waukesha County funding, sending a request to the county. “Each time I got the response that they're still waiting for the county to respond to their letter,” the staff member said, and the time to sign the agreement with DOT passed. Committee member Swan had asked that the item be placed on the agenda, but he was not able to attend the meeting.
Staff said the most the committee could do now was follow up with the village’s new administrator; absent county action the city has little jurisdiction to force the project forward. No formal action was taken.
