The Olean Common Council voted May 13 to accept New York State Department of Transportation grant offers for design work at the Cattaraugus County Olean Airport.
The grants cover the rotating airport beacon reconstruction design (PIN 5904.59) and replacement design for airfield lighting signage, the PAPI and REILs (PIN 5904.60). City staff said the council previously authorized staff to pursue the grants and that some projects include a local cost-share the city will need to budget in future years.
Council approved the acceptance on a 6-0 vote. Officials said the grants and annual airport upkeep are handled through the city’s capital and maintenance planning processes.
