Committee members approved preregistration at $25 (until Sept. 30), early-bird registration at $30 for October and $35 afterward. The committee also approved race categories by age with separate male and female placements and top-three awards in each division.
The committee set Dec. 13 as the run date and directed a subcommittee to begin planning so that any items needing a full committee vote can be brought back in time. Members noted the run requires some up-front expenses and that sponsors and preregistration fees help cover initial costs.
Organizers said the vice mayor and other council members may participate in a fundraising competition. The committee also preserved a policy that remaining unclaimed funds after scholarship awards could roll into park/monument work.
