The Laramie City Council on June 3 approved a billing-services agreement with EMS Management & Consultants to provide medical billing for the city’s emergency medical transportation services following the department’s separation from IMH on Sept. 1.
Chief (unnamed) said the city issued a request for proposals and received three responses; city evaluation teams from administration, fire and a consultant selected EMS MC. The contract’s initial term is three years and the vendor’s fee is 4.5% of net collections.
There was no public comment. Councilors voted 9–0 to approve the agreement, and the chief said staff will be available to answer follow-up questions as the transition approaches.
