Laramie City Council on June 3 approved a bar-and-grill liquor license for Laramie Railyard LLC DBA The Railyard at 301 Grand Avenue and advanced ordinance 2106, which would add a resort-hotel liquor license to the Laramie Municipal Code.
The council vote to grant the license was 9-0 following a public hearing at which no public comments were received. Original ordinance 2106 passed introduction and first reading; the ordinance would amend Laramie Municipal Code 5.09 to add a resort-hotel liquor license after the Wyoming Legislature passed SF 42. Melanie Vigil, Ward 2 City Council Member, said the resort-hotel license "is similar to a resort liquor license, but has a reduced number of rooms required in total valuation." The ordinance is scheduled for a second reading on June 17.
The meeting recap also listed amending the liquor-license master fee schedule to include resort-hotel liquor licenses among the evening's agenda items. The recap did not specify fee amounts, license conditions, operating hours, or other permit details. Council members welcomed the incoming business; the recap said The Railyard plans to open soon.
