Council approves special-use permit for full-service laundry at 102 West Cedar

The Rawlins City Council on June 3 approved the Planning and Zoning Commissionrecommendation to grant Special Use Permit SUP-2504001 for Matthew Thomas and Brian Rink to operate a full-service laundry at 102 West Cedar (the former Mustang Sally's). The motion cited Rollins municipal code Title 19 (schedule of uses) as the basis for requiring a special-use permit in that C-2 commercial district.
Councilwoman McMillan moved to adopt the planning commission recommendation; the motion passed unanimously in online voting with six yays.
At the public hearing the applicants said the business would include rental cars through a Toro app and that the business aims to serve local customers and visitors. No public objections were recorded during the hearing and the public hearing was closed before the council motion.
