Prattville council approves consent agenda including nuisance abatements, surplusing fire equipment and liquor-license hearing

The Prattville City Council created and adopted a consent agenda that bundled routine enforcement and administrative measures, including authorizing abatement of overgrown grass and weeds at specified addresses, authorizing the city attorney to affix costs for removal of garbage and rubbish at specific properties, surplusing fire department equipment and setting a public hearing to consider a restaurant retail liquor license to First Watch Restaurants, Inc., doing business as First Watch 1159.

Specific items included: resolution to abate overgrown grass and weeds at 1456 South Memorial Drive; authorizations to affix costs for garbage removal at 342 Sixth Street, 636 Lower Kingston Road, and 797 Franklin Street; resolution to surplus self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and a separate resolution to surplus a 1989 E1 fire engine; setting a public hearing to declare certain overgrown properties and authorize abatement; and an appointment of Robbie Anderson to the Prattville Solid Waste Disposal Authority. Council also approved a resolution to amend the resolution book to surplus various items of personal property and set a public hearing related to a liquor license application for First Watch.

Councilor Jackson told the council he had spoken with the owner of 1667 Buena Vista and that the owner had sent photos to code enforcement showing the property issue had been rectified; the council noted the owner—s corrective action. The consent agenda was adopted by the council with a motion and second and a voice vote approving the bundled items.
