Commissioners were updated May 20 that three businesses have been approved for the new retail development at the corner of Cortland Avenue and East Grand Avenue and that Pacific Gas & Electric has been on site to energize the buildings.
A staff member told the Planning Commission the project now lists a full-service restaurant near the corner, personal-service/fintess tenants near the 7-Eleven side of the property, and a veterinary hospital in a standalone building closest to the homes on Cortland. Staff said PG&E visited the site that week and that tenants were completing interior tenant improvements with expectations to open within roughly two months.
The item appeared under "notice of administrative items" and does not require a public hearing; commissioners asked for status and staff provided the operational update. No public comment was taken on administrative items, and staff said the city expects to report additional tenant approvals in the near term as the development completes energization and tenant buildouts.
