PSA accepts utility easement to serve Back to Nature development near Walnut Springs

The Montgomery County Public Service Authority on June 2 approved acceptance of a public utility easement to allow sewer service to a development adjacent to the Preserve at Walnut Springs.

The authority accepted the easement from the developer (identified in the meeting as Shaw Development and referenced elsewhere in the record as Charlotte Development) to allow sewer lines to cross preserve property and tie into an existing sewer line and pump station located in the Preserve at Walnut Springs. A staff member told the board the easement had been discussed at a prior meeting and is intended to serve the Back to Nature project.

A board member asked staff to confirm capacity at the pump station. A staff speaker replied that the pump station was designed to carry “all the flow from the surrounding area that could possibly drain into it.” That confirmation preceded a motion, second and roll-call approval of the easement acceptance.

The action authorizes the developer to install sewer infrastructure across the preserve parcel and to physically connect to an existing pump station, subject to existing capacity and connection conditions. The board’s recorded vote approved acceptance of the easement.

Less critical details: staff said the easement had been discussed previously and that capacity reviews were completed during the application process; no further contract or construction timetable was presented in the public meeting record.
