City attorney Felicia Donnelly presented an invoice totaling $30,000 payable to FMIT representing deductibles for two settled claims: a $25,000 deductible associated with a slip-and-fall claim at Veterans Memorial Park on March 14, 2021, and a $5,000 deductible for a trip-and-fall claim at Ariels Park on Nov. 7, 2020. Donnelly said FMIT conducted investigations, the claims resulted in suit, and settlements were reached during mediation.
Staff recommended approval and council voted in favor by voice vote. Donnelly and staff said the invoices represent deductible payments associated with settlements paid through Dec. 31, 2024.
