Board member Mabry asked what happens to old uniforms. “There have been times when they have actually been, like, auctioned or oftentimes we do things like gov deals,” a staff member said, and Jeff Taylor added that many items are sold through GovDeals and that costume shops sometimes purchase used uniforms for theater productions. The presenters said disposition depends on the condition and salvage value; items in sellable condition typically go to GovDeals or are auctioned, while others may be repurposed.
