County staff outlines landfill scale upgrades, camera towers and self-serve options

To reduce staff time and improve tracking, staff recommended adding a tower or telephone pole (estimated two yards of concrete for a base and a 20'30 foot tower) to mount cameras and an access point. Staff said they could donate an inexpensive tower and that a pedestal self-service terminal is available used for about $2,400; final pricing requires follow-up.
Staff demonstrated live camera footage and described how camera timestamps would be synchronized with scale data so weigh-ins and weigh-outs could be cross-checked. Commissioners encouraged moving forward with the basic tower pad and wiring; no formal appropriation was made at the meeting. Staff said they would follow up with exact costs, an installation plan and steps to keep night monitoring powered (generator or solar backups).
