Monroe County commissioners on May 21 approved the accounts payable claims register showing $1,317,026.07 in current claims and accepted two check registers totaling $1,243,078.65 for non-claims payments.
Finance staff read vendor highlights including subscriptions, autopsy services, pre-employment testing, custodial contracts and scheduled debt payments handled through the drain commission. Commissioners then approved the check registers by roll call.
The board also accepted a letter from Michael Wolford, the county’s equalization director, recommending the 2025 county government millage rates and how those rates would be apportioned between summer and winter tax bills. County staff said separate supporting letters were provided for each millage rate and answered commissioners’ procedural questions before the board approved the request.
