Committee recommends approval of appointments; motion adopted by voice vote

The committee reported completion of interviews for midyear vacancies and recommended approval of the proposed appointees; the committee moved the slate forward to the full Kent County Board of Commissioners and the committee motion was adopted by voice vote.

An administrator told commissioners the interview team had completed interviews for the attached appointments and “recommends approval of those individuals.” Commissioner LeGrand moved the motion and Commissioner Merchant supported it. Commissioner Hennessy asked whether one position listed as a consumer qualified because the nominee is a dentist. The administrator explained the dentist does not operate a private practice and primarily serves low-income nursing homes and other settings, describing her as closely connected to the KCCA population; that explanation was accepted and there were no recorded objections.

Commissioner LeGrand and Commissioner Merchant formally moved and supported the recommendation; the chair called for the voice vote and the motion was adopted. The administrator said, if approved by the full board at its next meeting, the appointees would begin their service on the listed boards and commissions.
