The Bonner County Ambulance Service District introduced Jennifer Wyman as the new bookkeeper and discussed next steps to separate district accounts and payroll from county accounts.
Wyman told the board she is in the preliminary stages of transition work and will obtain bank statements from Oct. 1 through the current date, open accounts to separate district funds, and set up payroll accounts. She said she met with district staff and plans to get historical data entered into her system to complete a mid‑year transition.
Wyman said she could not yet commit to a permanent rate change because she is still assessing the work; she proposed keeping the current rate for at least 90 days to allow time to determine whether the scope requires a rate increase or whether efficiencies can lower costs. She said she is looking into software pricing, direct deposit fees and other administrative costs and exploring wholesale options to reduce expenses.
Commissioners asked that she coordinate primarily with Chief Lindsey as her point of contact and with other staff such as Clarissa, Kinsey and Alan as needed. The board agreed to schedule a follow‑up conversation with the bookkeeper at the next meeting when more commissioners can be present.
No formal board action was taken; items discussed were acknowledged as high‑priority transition tasks.
