Kent’s City Council on June 3 authorized the mayor to sign a professional services agreement with Project B3 to provide domestic‑violence co‑responder services, the police department said.
City staff described Project B3 as a community partner used by the police department to address underlying conditions of domestic violence and to provide services alongside officers. The current contract was set to expire June 30; the newly authorized agreement begins July 1 and runs through December 2026 unless otherwise extended.
Councilmember Boyse moved the authorization; the motion passed unanimously. Staff did not provide contract dollar amounts or program staffing levels during the presentation in this meeting.
