BISBEE, Ariz. โ The Cochise County Flood Control District board approved consent items 1 and 2 at its June 3 meeting and a board member requested a full accounting of payments to consulting firm Fuller Hydrology.
The request came during a brief discussion after the board took the unanimous vote. "I would like to see a total of the amount of money spent with Fuller Hydrology and note what do we have to show for all that money," the board member said. "We're spending tens of thousands of dollars on that. And I seriously doubt if our aquifer is any higher because of that." The speaker did not identify themselves by name on the record.
The meeting was held in the Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, 1415 Melody Lane, Building G, Bisbee, Arizona, and was also open to the public via Microsoft Teams and by phone. The presiding members present on the record were Supervisor Crosby (District 1) and Supervisor Gomez (District 2) in person; Supervisor Antinori (District 3) participated remotely.
A supervisor moved to approve consent items 1 and 2 and another seconded; there was no discussion on the motion and the board voted unanimously in favor. The transcript records three "aye" votes and the motion "passes unanimously." The board did not specify the individual mover or seconder on the record.
The meeting notice referenced Arizona open-meeting requirements (ARS Title 38, Chapter 3) when announcing public access to the meeting. The board also noted that the next meeting would follow and would be the "veil district board of directors meeting" to approve minutes and demands and to adopt Resolution 25.02, as stated on the record.
No dollar totals for payments to Fuller Hydrology or a schedule for the requested accounting were provided during the meeting. The meeting was then adjourned.
