Chief McPheron of the Wichita County Sheriff's Office told the commissioners on June 3 that the department completed deployment of new Axon in-car cameras, body cameras and in-car computers and thanked county information technology staff and the commissioners for funding and coordination.
In public comment, McPheron said Axon personnel assisted with setup and noted the effort required significant IT work to stand up the network and integrate hardware. He thanked the commissioners for providing the money to purchase the equipment and praised county IT staff for their work to get the system operational.
No formal action or additional funding was requested at the meeting; the chief's remarks were presented as an informational update and an expression of thanks to staff for completing the technical deployment.
