Wichita County Commissioners Court on June 3 approved construction of a new driveway entrance to the parking lot at the Alba Park Annex, authorizing up to $12,600 to be paid from new permanent improvement funds with specific ledger lines to be set by the county auditor.
The court adopted a motion that names “Do It All Bates” as the primary contractor and Wilson Contracting as the secondary contractor if the primary cannot meet required timing. The motion passed 5-0.
Commissioners said both bidders had previously done work for the county and that the lower bid offered a measurable savings; the court inserted a timing contingency so the county could use the secondary bidder if the primary could not mobilize quickly. The county auditor will determine the precise budget lines to fund the work.
No other changes to the project scope were made during the discussion. The court approved the motion by voice vote and the clerk recorded the tally as unanimous.
The project will proceed under the terms approved; the county will notify the chosen contractor and schedule work based on availability and weather conditions.
