The Lompoc City Council voted unanimously on June 3 to appoint Yasmin Dawson to the Public Safety Commission for a term ending in December 2028.
Council member Ball nominated Dawson; the nomination was seconded and the council voted 5–0 to confirm the appointment. No opposition or public comment on the nomination was recorded at the meeting.
The appointment fills an open seat on the commission and will take effect immediately. The council did not discuss additional duties or an expanded scope for the commission at the time of the appointment.
