Planning commission endorses special-use permit for motel/bed-and-breakfast with conditions

Applicant representative Amy Davis presented the petition; no members of the public signed up to speak for or against the application. Commissioner Mason made the motion to recommend approval and explicitly carried the staff’s three recommended conditions. The conditions read into the record were: future work must comply with the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code and the Uniform Statewide Building Code; required parking shall be provided on site; and the project must comply with all applicable Virginia Department of Health regulations.
The motion to recommend approval, including the staff conditions, carried 7-0. The commission’s recommendation will be transmitted to the Board of Zoning Appeals for final action and any permitting review.
