Vanessa, the city’s workers' compensation claims handler, presented the item during the Innom Municipal Authority session and explained the Enid Municipal Code permits judgments greater than $20,000 to be placed on judgment rolls that result in ad valorem tax collections to recoup the expense. “This is a companion item to the consent item that was just passed,” Vanessa said, describing the mechanics of the assignment and repayment schedule.
Under the agreement before trustees, Hiddens assigned his judgment to the municipal authority; if trustees accept that assignment and purchase the judgment, the authority will be reimbursed through collection of ad valorem taxes for the judgment plus accrued interest. Vanessa said that reimbursements are scheduled to begin June 15, 2026, and run for three years.
The trustees sought no further clarification and approved the agreement unanimously.
