Council adopts updated building permit and inspection fees effective Oct. 1

The Jasper City Council adopted an ordinance to update building inspection and permitting fees at its May 20 meeting, after a presentation by Brent McCallum, a city staff member.
McCallum told the council the city's fee structure "has not been updated since 02/2006" and that the city was "losing money... on every permit that we do," prompting the revision. The new fee schedule will take effect Oct. 1, the start of the next fiscal year, to give roughly four to six months' notice to the public.
