Village staff provided progress updates on several road and infrastructure projects and gave schedule guidance to the Board of Trustees.
John (staff) reported two box culverts have been installed. He said crews will place a 4-inch binder so the road can be opened while the full reconstruction awaits contractor mobilization. "So we put in the specifications when we are going to award it... we're planning on awarding the June or I'm sorry, the July 1 meeting... we're going to put a completion date at the September," John said, adding actual start dates are contractor-dependent. Staff said the bid opening for the remainder of Eastern Avenue is scheduled for June 26.
John also said Baker Road's street lights have about two or three fixtures left to wire and that inspectors will review wiring; once inspected staff will contact ComEd to energize the lights and expects them to be lit within about a week. On culverts and binder placement, staff described an anticipated period of two to three months for reconstruction work, weather-dependent.
Trustees asked timing and expressed appreciation for progress; no formal board action was recorded on these informational items in the meeting excerpt.
