Board honors Terry Malore with Board of Education Award; colleagues praise her 12 years of service

The Greece Central Board of Education presented Terry Malore with the Board of Education Recognition Award for the 2024–25 school year and multiple speakers praised her years of service to the district.
Why it matters: Board-member transitions affect governance continuity. Board members, two superintendents and community leaders described Malore’s contributions to arts, career and technical education, LGBTQ+ advocacy and community-school work.
Former Superintendent Kathy Grumman addressed the board and called Malore an “invaluable partner,” saying, “Terry embodies the concept of walking the walk… she has poured her heart and soul into making Greece better.” Grumman credited Malore with committee leadership, championing arts and career-and-technical education, and supporting students across grade levels.
Board members and community representatives echoed those sentiments at the meeting. One board member said, “She's a tremendous asset to this community. I'm gonna truly miss Terry Malore and I just wanna thank her for everything she's done for Greece Central.” The board noted Malore’s service from 2013 to 2025 and announced the Board of Education Award as a unanimous choice.
Malore thanked colleagues and family; the board took a group photo with Malore and her family during the meeting. Several members also thanked outgoing board member Megan Farrah and welcomed incoming members whose terms will begin next month.
The award and remarks were presented at the start of the meeting as part of the board’s recognition agenda.
