City staff reported a 2025 CHIPS allocation of $2,230,000 and said the council was reserving about $200,000 as the local share for the Crescent Avenue Bridge project, which requires a 5% local match for a predominantly federal commitment.
Alderman Marticello summarized the planned base bid as Market Street from Prospect to the north side of the Van Dyke intersection, and told the council the pavement conditions warranted that priority. He said once work begins staff will revisit the alternate street list and release additional streets for resurfacing as budget allows.
Mike (public works/engineering) told the council the estimated leftover local share after paying for Market Street and Crescent Avenue Bridge obligations would be roughly $700,000; he said staff will return with a prioritized recommendation for additional alternates. The council passed the contract award on a roll call vote; Alderman Marticello, Alderman Quistamars, Alderman Holliday, Alderman Collins and Alderman Carpenter voted aye.
The council and staff noted work on Market Street and East Main Street will be coordinated with New York State Department of Transportation schedules and that the Crescent Avenue Bridge project has a federal funding commitment that influences timing and scope.
