Commissioners approve purchase of resident beds for county nursing home from Direct Supply

Staff said the facility needs 10 beds immediately but ordered 15 so five units can be used for parts or future needs. The recommended beds are rated for bariatric use and offer adaptable deck widths and lengths.
Ross said the purchase is budgeted in the nursing capital line and therefore covered by existing capital funds; commissioners moved, seconded and approved the procurement during the meeting.
Staff noted the competitive bid process and that multiple vendors submitted bids to the specification. The beds are intended to improve reliability and reduce long‑term maintenance costs by standardizing on a reputable manufacturer.
