The official said both offices had balanced to the penny and that the county collected ad valorem taxes on all parcels without unsold tax liens or uncollected tax‑litigation items noted. “We collected 100% of taxes owed on all 22,500 parcels in Choctaw County,” the revenue official said, summarizing the report.
Commissioner Dahlgren moved to approve the errors and omissions report and to grant the chairman authority to sign; Commissioner Jackson seconded the motion, and the commission voted aye.
Separately, the revenue official recommended hiring Madison Briggs Turner to fill a vacancy in the appraisal office at $13.10 per hour; the position will be funded from the reappraisal budget. Commissioner Dahlgren moved to hire Turner; Commissioner Mosley seconded and the motion carried.
Both actions were routine, administrative votes to close the county’s 2024 tax year and maintain appraisal office staffing. Staff said they will present executed documents at the state meeting and return with any follow‑up if needed.
