Baldwin County recognized employees of the quarter for the first quarter of 2025 and presented certificates to staff from the Highway and CIS departments.
County presenters highlighted Michael (Highway Department licensing/permits) for managing rights-of-way permitting during a surge that staff said is approaching 500 permits this year related to fiber expansion, and Timothy Butler (Area 300 highway operator) for nearly 19 years of service overseeing dirt-road paving projects in South Baldwin County.
Highway supervisors praised both employees for leadership and for helping coordinate utility work to avoid conflict with other construction projects. "One thing that Mike and I have been able to do is get in front of some of these projects we know are coming and look at these utility permits... to determine if the work can be done there, in relation to the project going on," a supervisor said. Commissioners congratulated the honorees and posed for photographs.
The county encourages residents to nominate staff for future recognition via the county website.
