County proclaims Emergency Medical Services Week and recognizes EMS staff and new resources

The Baldwin County Commission proclaimed the week of May 2025 as Emergency Medical Services Week and recognized the county’s emergency medical providers and recent improvements to local EMS capacity.
An EMS representative thanked the commission and described operational developments, including a local National Association of EMTs training center, expanded telemedicine use, routine pre-hospital EKG transmission to hospitals and the addition of roughly 10 new ambulances since August of the prior year. The speaker also said the county now has three helicopters providing air services that improve response times for critical patients.
"We have the intimate honor of being someone's worst day person, and we have the privilege of seeing humanity unfiltered," the EMS representative said during remarks. Commissioners thanked EMS providers and noted the expanded air and ambulance capacity as important assets for a growing county.
A motion to adopt the proclamation passed on a voice vote recorded as "Aye. Motion carries."
