Starpoint Central names top 10 seniors for Class of 2025

An announcer for the STARPOINT CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT presented the top 10 seniors for the Class of 2025, listing each student's honors, extracurricular activities, future plans and favorite memories.

The presentation recognized Timothy Lukasik as the No. 10 senior; his honors include membership in National Honor Society and subject honor societies, multiple scholar-athlete awards and appearances at state cross-country and track championships. The announcer said Lukasik plans to run Division I cross country and track at Canisius University and intends to major in business and film production.

Ninth-ranked Maddie Schmidt was noted for basketball and track honors, including ECIC second-team and an October student-of-the-month award; the announcer said she plans to attend college to train as a physician assistant. Eighth-ranked Peyton Trimble received an AP Scholar with Honor Award and leadership recognitions in swimming and was described as planning a career as a physician assistant.

Seventh-ranked Annabelle Pakelut was presented with student‑of‑the‑month and scholar‑athlete honors and said she plans to attend college with the goal of becoming a lawyer and later a U.S. senator. Sixth-ranked Anna Murzynski was recognized for academic awards and participation in student council, wind ensemble and school musicals; she plans to pursue a master’s degree in engineering.

Fifth-ranked Chloe Cooney was identified as a National Honor Society member, a seven-time scholar athlete and a two‑sport varsity athlete who plans to major in biology and pursue medical school to become a radiologist. Fourth-ranked Ryan Caro was noted for bowling, Scholastic Bowl and National Honor Society membership and plans to attend Syracuse University to study sports analytics.

Third-ranked Meadow Barubi received athletic and citizenship awards, served as student council vice president and as the student member of the board of education (student ex officio), and plans to pursue a Ph.D. in psychology while continuing to play collegiate volleyball and lacrosse. Second-ranked Megan Melville earned sportsmanship and coaching awards, served as student council president, and the announcer said she is considering SUNY Cortland or Daemen University and hopes to play college basketball.

The No. 1 ranked senior, Sofia Walizewski, was described as president of the National Honor Society, a track-and-field MVP, an all‑state basketball selection and class treasurer; she plans to study finance in college and continue competing in track and field.

The announcer closed by congratulating the Class of 2025 and highlighting the range of academic, athletic and extracurricular accomplishments among the top 10 students.
