Baldwin County commissioners on May 21 said the Central Annex construction is about to start and reminded residents that some county services, including probate and revenue functions, will be temporarily located elsewhere during construction.
One commissioner described recent amendments to the countysubdivision regulations and zoning ordinance and said the planning commission will begin work on a master plan. The commissioner proposed conducting workshops to help residents understand planning and zoning and how those tools guide growth.
Commissioners emphasized that growth itself is not the problem but that unplanned growth poses challenges, and they urged patience while long-term measures take effect. No votes or formal directives to start public workshops were recorded in the meeting transcript; the comments were made during the commissioner comments portion of the agenda.
The commission also congratulated Jared Cunningham on receiving a degree through ACCMA and recognized Coroner Pierce, who attended the meeting.
