The Northern Lebanon School District board approved the district's final budget and several related financial and service items at its June 3 meeting.
The board gave second and final approval to the budget item (9.3), the same plan approved at the May meeting. Director Murray moved to approve the final budget and Director Englund seconded the motion; the board recorded a unanimous voice vote.
The board also approved the annual homestead and farmstead adjustments and an annual fund-balance designation showing financial category balances. Administrators reported a slight increase in homestead/farmstead amounts for the coming year.
The board approved annual student-service agreements that include dental services from WellSpan and various shared services through IU13, including occupational and physical therapy, personal care assistance and speech and language services. The board also approved energy purchasing consortium renewals for electricity and natural gas (through the IU consortiums and NRG) that the administration said saved money compared with the district’s prior vendor.
Administrators noted an update to the classified handbook to reflect a previously approved 2.5% starting wage increase and several clarified handbook provisions. The board approved items 9.4 through 9.9 and recorded those votes as unanimous; earlier personnel approvals included one stated abstention for a named item.
The board did not change tax rates at the June 3 meeting; the approved final budget and service agreements will be implemented for the 2025–26 fiscal year.
